Set within the Oaktree factory campus, the new Oaktree Kitchen & Showroom transforms an existing warehouse into an immersive brand environment. Retaining the original structural grid as its backbone, the building is re-imagined as a sculpted architectural entity — a metaphorical extension of the kitchen cabinetry carcass. Just as a cabinet is defined by its layered shells, supports, and reveal moments, the building is carved, framed, and articulated to create a sequence of controlled experiences for visitors and staff alike.
The showroom levels are crafted to enhance the kitchen-viewing experience. The aisles culminate in carefully framed picture windows, creating visual depth and allowing natural light. The western façade is articulated with a deep overhang that functions both as a shading device and as balconies for spillover activity, providing thermal comfort while a dynamic from the adjacent metro line. A strategically placed blank wall near the staircase becomes a prominent branding surface. To optimise daylight, the northern wall is opened up entirely, flooding the showroom with soft, even illumination and in the south, large openings lead to a generous patio—an outdoor extension of the showroom that serves as a space for client interactions, informal gatherings, and winter sun.
Through its layered approach to adaptive reuse, climate strategy, and curated spatial experience, Oaktree Kitchen and Showroom becomes not just a display space, but a living environment that elevates the craft of kitchen design and strengthens the brand’s presence within its own manufacturing campus.
